Seth Burgess (1736 - 1795), a direct descendant of Thomas and Dorothy Burgess, was born at Dartmouth, Massachusetts, and married Abigail Howe in 1757. They immigrated in 1760 to Kings County, Nova Scotia. Descendants lived in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and elsewhere in Canada. Some descendants immigrated to New England, New York and elsewhere in the United States.

Hugh Calkin (1600-1690), his wife Ann and their four children, Sarah, John (b. 1634), Mary and Susan (or Rebecca), were the first of this family in America.
Hugh Calkin was from Chepstowe, Monmouthshire, England.
He was made a Freeman of Massachusetts at Salem on Dec. 27, 1642.
His second son, David, was born at Gloucester in 1639, and a daughter, Deborah, was born there in 1644.
Hugh and his older son, John, moved to Norwich, Conn. in 1660.
Descendants live in New York, Connecticut, Illinois, Oregon and elsewhere.
Includes the Harwick family from England to Illinois in 1838, and the Hyde family from England to Newton, Massachusetts in 1633.

John McLatchy was born in Ayrshire, Scotland, in 1756. He immigrated to Canada in 1783 and settled in Windsor, Nova Scotia. He married Rebekah Morrison in 1784. They had eight children, 1786-1804.
The family moved to Weldon, New Brunswick, in 1812. John and his wife returned to Windsor, nova Scotia, in their later years, and died there, John in 1832 and Rebekah in 1853. Descendants lived in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Massachusetts, and elsewhere.
